Bobby Rush released his first 45 "Sock Boo Ga Loo" / "Much Too Much" in 1967.
His debut album Rush Hour was released in 1979 and he went on to release the LPs Sue in 1981, Wearing I Out in 1983, Gotta Have Money in 1984, What's Good for the Goose Is Good for the Gander in 1985, and A Man Can Give It (But He Can't Take It) in 1988. Rush has also released the albums Making a Decision, I Ain't Studdin' You, Handy Man, One Monkey Don't Stop No Show, Wearing It Out, It's Alright, Vol. 2, Lovin' a Big Fat Woman, Rush Hour… Plus, The Best of Bobby Rush, Hoochie Man, Undercover Lover, Folkfunk, Night Fishin, Raw, Look at What You Getting', Blind Snake, Show You a Good Time, Down in Louisiana, Decisions, and Porcupine Meat.
